Story writing:

                                     The cruelty of a house mistress

A poor girl, named Bina worked in a rich man’s house. The master was kind to her but the mistress was very cruel. She used to scold her every now and then. One day while serving tea, Bina broke a cup of tea. The mistress  became very angry and  beat her black and blue. She got Bina out of house and Bina was helpless . Bina was crying at the gate of the house. Meanwhile, the master who was kind  came home and saw her crying at the gate. He knew everything from her. He took the girl to her village. He told her mother to send the girl to school. He promised her mother that he would  help Rina financially. Thus, Rina was saved from cruelty and be able to have honourable life.

পৃথিবী ও আমরা

পৃথিবী ঘুরছে  আমরাও ঘুরছি। 
জানি কি গন্তব্য তার
জানে না সে নিজে
জানিবে সে কীসে 
ঘুরায় তাকে তার পরোয়ার ্।
তারায় তারায় হাজারো পৃথিবী
বাসিন্দা  নেই জানা
তারাও ঘুরিছে অজানার পথে
সীমা টানিতে মানা।

শত শত আলোক বর্ষ 
আমাদের থেকে দূরে
ভাসিছে যেন পানির উপরে
হাওয়াও নেই তার সাথে।
উঠেছে সূর্য নামিছে সূর্য 
আসলে কি হয় জানো?
পৃথিবী ঘুরে এদিক ওদিক সরে
দিবা রাত্রি হয় তাতে।
আসলে সবে গতিতে সমান
দুরত্ত্ব রাখিয়ে চলে।

অসীমের মাঝে সসীম আমরা
ভাবিয়া যখন মরি 
মিটমিটে হাসে পরওয়ারদেগার 
সকলি তাঁহার কৃতী ।

অনিশ্চিত সকাল

স্তব্ধ আঁধার নীলিমা রেখা ভেদী   

 বহিছে সকালের বায়ু
নিরিবিলি বহিছে উত্তরী নদী

নীরবতা তার আয়ু ।

উঠিছে সূর্য লালিমা আলো

দিগন্তে ছড়িছে আভা ।

মনের মাদুলি মিশিয়ে পেলো

মানুষ তাহার প্রভা।

শুধু শোনা যায় বাঁচাও বাঁচাও

আসেনা কেউ তার দ্বারে

মরিছে কি বীর সন্তানেরা

জীবিত ছিল যাও ।

এমনি চলছে হাহাকার আজি

আসেনি কেউ তার সাথে।

জীবন প্রদীপ নিভু নিভু

ছাড়িছে কি হাল মাঝি ?

বসে বসে মোরা দেখছি সবই

কাপুরুষ সম কাজ

বীরের জাতির একি দশা আজ ?

পালিয়েছে শেয়ালের মতই।

হে নজরুল ! এসো আজি তুমি

মৃতপ্রায় জাতির সনে

জাগিয়ে তোল পালিয়েছে যারা

শাল মহুয়ার বনে।

Explanation for M.A English/Honours

1. For he that wynketh whan he sholde see,
    Al wilfully, God lat him nevere thee

These  extract has been taken from Chaucer's  The Nun's Priest's Tale. Chanticleer learnt this lesson which the reader should know too.

Chanticleer says that  the fox can no longer through  his flattery, make him sing  and  close  his  eyes. He adds that he  who wilfully shuts  his eyes when  he should keen  them open, should never be  allowed by God to prosper.

2. Wommennes conseils  been  ful ofte colde
     Wommennes consel broghte us first  to wo,
     And  made  Adam fro Paradys to go.

These  extract has been taken from Chaucer's  The Nun's Priest's Tale. Here the  poet comments upon woman's consel.

Woman 's counsels are often fatal enough. The  advice given  by women  very often leads to grievous consequences. A woman's  counsel brought us first to grief and made Adam  depart from  paradise when he perfectly happy and  comfortable.

In fact , the poet wants  to indicate  Chanticleer's  folly, who took advice of his  wife  and  that  advice leads him to  his sorrow.
